Friends of Mewar’s founder, Padmaja Kumari Parmar, spoke on a panel about Global Affairs at the Harvard India Conference on February 11th, 2023. It is the largest India focused conference in the US hosted jointly by the Harvard Business School and the Harvard Kennedy School.
This university-wide student-run conference provides a platform to discuss matters related to India by bringing together a diverse range of speakers and participants across domains.
This year marked the 20th edition of the conference, and its theme was ‘Vision 2047: India at 100 years of Independence’.
The panel on Global Affairs aimed to look at India’s current and future global footprint from various perspectives, including philanthropy and arts & culture.
Summary of Panel: “The last 25 years have seen an accelerated evolution in the global landscape and trends, including the rise of Asia and India, a bigger role of non-state actors, and increasing cross-cultural exchanges. The Indian state, corporations, social movements, artists, NGOs, and academics have benefited from and contributed to this evolution. This panel will look at opportunities, challenges, and possibilities for these actors in determining the direction of the global landscape.”
